This Week: Dec 27 – Jan 2

In classic Mercury Retrograde style, my internet connection has been out for the last 3 weeks and I’ve been too-busy to deal with (avoiding) calling the company to get it back up. Therefore, I’ve been pirating a miniscule connection off my neighbors. I know. It’s not right. My tendency to avoid the “I don’t know how” places and my fear of “wasting time” doing things I don’t want to do creates a whole LOT of wasted time, problems and frustration. With the Winter Solstice, the Sun has moved into Capricorn, ruled by the planet Saturn. Saturn, aka The Boss, is all about TIME, structure, schedule, work, etc. Saturn isn’t into bullshit. Saturn asks me to RESPOND immediately, or at the very least, in a timely fashion. Sigh. (UPDATE: back online after an hour long tech call.)

I spent time in Tahoe with my family this oast week… in the home I grew up in. My sister’s family was there, as well as my brother and mom (who lives there most of the year.) It was an amazing experience to be revisiting my childhood, not just through my memories of this place and the repeating patterns of my family’s dynamic, but through the eyes and experience of my 3 year old daughter. She loves Tahoe. Though she shows little (no) interest in being outside in the snow, she adores the time with her cousins, nana, aunt and uncles, along with her parents… uninterrupted by work and every day household duties. I think that is want I love most about going away – no household duties. It was so nice to take a break from housework, spend lots of time playing with the kids and get a chance to have some outdoor adventures snowshoeing with my husband. Now I am home… and loads of laundry await, along with putting away christmas decor and dealing with the things I left hanging (in favor of gift-making.) Even writing that last sentence, made be feel depressed – UGH. Really, I want to play.

This Week the Sun is in Capricorn and the Moon wanes through Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius. Mercury is retrograde until the 30th. Most of my thoughts  seem to center on New Year’s eve and what sort of New Years resolutions I am considering. I’ll be posting about this on Thursday, since we will not be having a guest blogger this week.

As always during a Mercury retrograde, hold things gently… things may change.
