As always, I write my 10 new moon wishes in the area of health, work, the body, organizing, details and service. Then I start pulling images out of my image file and/or magazines and pasting them down without thinking too much about what I am doing. The main message that came forward was about easily and fully EMBODYING my work, including the things I am manifesting. And…the Mystery Always Delivers, so I am partnering with the unknown on these things because I certainly don’t know how to do it all myself!!!!

What are you ready to EMBODY with the New Virgo Moon?

The Sun is still in Virgo, and will meet up with the New Moon in Virgo (read Moon Tip) on Wednesday, Sept 8th. This is the time to start making your wishes in the area of health, work, the body, organizing, details and service, to set them on your altar this Wednesday. As for Art & Magic, in the next few days I am definitely going to be collaging about what MY BODY wants in order to manifest the wishes I will be laying down. I’ll be posting my art on Wednesday. Remember, when we express we possess. Externalize what is inside of you, get it out, lay it down. Asking for help is not just about talking to the people in your life, it’s also about connecting to the Mystery & allowing the invisible to assist you. As Caroline Casey says, “all the Gods & Goddesses want to help, but spiritual etiquette requires that we ask.” Ask now. Put that list of TO DOs on the altar (Saturn loves lists), along with your wishes and art.

Pisces is all about connections, possibility, the big picture, the overarching dream. This being said, they need a container to grow and thrive in. As the most sensitive sign of the zodiac, they can easily become overwhelmed with their surroundings. It is important to maintain balance and have discernment around who feels good to hang out with. A great idea for a pisces altar is to create a terrarium!

Make one for yourself, make a kit for a friend… or better yet, a kid! I created the Terrarium Kit (above) for my pisces nephew’s 4th birthday. I thought it would be a great way to learn about inter-connectedness & living ecosystems, plus caring for one. I got a large container, added the main ingredients in baggies, some small shade-loving plants from my back yard and simple instructions for my nephew and his parents to follow. The instructions included here are culled from a variety of internet sources or you can search under “terrarium” to get more info and ideas. My magical friends like to plant random seeds in their terrarium so they can “guess” what is growing. I love that idea!

SPRING EQUINOX – Saturday, March 20th

The Spring Equinox or Vernal Equinox is right around the corner – bringing equality between day and night… and marks our passage from darkness and cold to warmth and light. As the newly reborn sun moves across the sky, the days become longer, the air warmer and, once again, life begins to return to the land. The equinoxes mark the time in which seeds would be planted (spring) and then harvested (fall.) In the old tradition of celebrating Springtime, the ancient goddess, Eostre, a Saxon deity who marked not only the passage of time but also symbolized new life and fertility, was the key symbol of the celebration of the Vernal Equinox, which was also known as Ostara. Legend says that the goddess was saved by a bird whose wings had become frozen by the cold of winter. This process turned the bird into a hare. Yet this was no ordinary bunny; this long-eared rabbit could also lay eggs! I think you know who I’m talking about…

TIP +  Spring Ritual for Abundance The planting of the new crops would often be held during the new moon closest to the Equinox (Monday, March 15th – New Moon in Pisces). In honor of this tradition,  gather seeds to represent the things you want to grow during the new year (refer to your vision board/resolutions) — abundance, wisdom, understanding, patience, love, partnership, unconditional love, etc. As you plant your seeds in a pot of soil or in your garden, visualize those qualities coming into full bloom in your life. As you plant them, bless the seeds honoring the 4 elements: pat the seed in the dirt (earth), water it, blow on it (air) and light a candle by it (fire) or hold up to the sun. Express your gratitude to all the people, places and things that have gotten you to this point in your life. Invite the seeds out the formlessness of winter’s dreaming…asking them (and yourself) to awaken to the light of spring – to grow and thrive with new life and new possibility. YES!
